El Colegio "San Andrés" fue fundado en 1917 por John A. Mackay (quien sería después responsable de la YMCA en Latinoamérica, y luego Presidente de ¿Princeton Theological Seminary¿). El 13 de junio de ese año el Dr. Mackay recibió autorización para el funcionamiento de la Escuela Anglo-Peruana, que se convertiría el 12 de mayo de 1919,tras un rápido crecimiento, en "Colegio Anglo Peruano".Posteriormente,por disposiciones legales durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial,se tuvo que dejar de lado dicho nombre, y se adoptó el actual "Colegio San Andrés". Esto sucedió en 1942. Actualmente, desde 1930,se ubica en la Av. Du Petit Thouars N°. 179, Santa Beatriz,Lima. El Colegio "San Andrés" es una Institución confesional que tiene por finalidad impartir una Educación integral basada en las enseñanzas de las Sagradas Escrituras.La Entidad Promotora del Colegio es una Entidad Religiosa, sin fines de lucro, reconocida como tal por el Ministerio de Justicia y Culto y Beneficencia el 15 mayo de 1931.El lema del Colegio es: "INITIUM SAPIENTIAE TIMOR DOMINI" El temor a Dios es el principio de la sabiduría. (Proverbios 1: 7) Durante su existencia el Colegio se ha esforzado por no apartarse de la línea de los ideales y objetivos que determinaron su fundación.
