WSSA has been a sponsor to Valued Citizens Initiatives VCI since 2002 and is regarded as a silver partner The VCI was established in 2001 as a non-profit organisation in response to Gauteng Department of Educations quest to develop citizenship education in public schools The VCI has initiated several development projects across the country WSSA is one of the sponsors for the VCIs Inspire Programme, which is a leadership programme, targeting grade 9 girl learners from rural and township public schools around Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal The primary goal for this program is to address gender inequalities and poverty in communities The programme invites 10 girl learners from 10 secondary schools from each province to participate The
