Have some fun in the sun and join Knysna Canoeing Adventures for a trip on the beautiful Knysna lagoon. No experience is necessary for these adventures and we’re certain you’ll master our super stable easy to paddle kayaks in no time. We provide all the necessary equipment, canoes, life jackets, paddles and guides, you just need to relax and enjoy the tour. The scenery is beautiful and the clean clear lagoon is one of South Africa’s treasures.
HALF DAY KNYSNA ESTUARY EXPLORER
Take a seat on one of our canoes and we’ll guide you to spectacular scenery. Highlights on this trip include paddling along the coast of the Western Head, Featherbed side of the Lagoon with the small coves, rugged rock, sandy beaches and mid estuary views of the Knysna Heads on the way to leisure Isle, so if you’ve got a waterproof camera - bring it along. This is a half day adventure available in the morning or afternoon.
FULL DAY EXPLORER
A great canoe trip that starts from the forested banks of the deep dark, cola coloured waters of the Knysna River and heads down all the way along the Knysna Estuary to where the lagoon empties through the heads into the ocean.
You’ll have an opportunity to explore the riverine forest, tidal marshes, sand banks and all the creatures that call these diverse habitats home. This spectacular paddle includes lunch which you’ll enjoy in shady spot with great views of the lagoon. All equipment is provided. Contact us for details
KNYSNA ADVENTURE TRAIL A FULL DAY COMBO
An awesome combination adventure that starts off with a morning canoe trail on the Knysna Estuary followed by a magnificent beach walk in the afternoon. This is a great way to explore the beauty and diversity of the Knysna Lagoon and coastline. Experience the tranquillity of paddling on the huge Knysna Lagoon with water birds and sea creatures to keep you company, it’s a refreshing change from the energy of Knysna town.
Having worked up an appetite we’ll ground the canoes and head uphill for a spectacular view of the Knysna Lagoon and Buffalo Bay, the perfect spot for an adventurers lunch. After refreshments we head onto the splendid beach and walk from Brenton on Sea to Buffalo Bay, expect interesting rock formations, pristine dunes, wide empty beaches, rare black oyster catchers and comical sand pipers along the beach. This is a great full day adventure, no experience is necessary.
