Originally named by a Portugese mariner "Bahia Formosa", meaning Bay Beautiful, Plettenberg Bay was re-named by the Dutch Governor of the Cape, Joachim van Plettenberg in 1778. Plettenberg Bay or "Plett" (as it’s fondly known by locals) is the "Jewel of the Garden Route", and is one of South Africa's most scenic and popular coastal towns. With its ever increasing popularity, Plett provides excellent value for the discerning property investor. Plett lies in a magnificent, sheltered bay with white sandy beaches situated on the South Western Coastline of South Africa along the waters of the warm Indian Ocean.
