AK Holdings, Inc., formerly Aekyung Petrochemical Co., Ltd., is a Korea-based holding company. It manufactured phthalic anhydride (PA) and its derivatives. Its products included PA used as raw material for phthalate plasticizers, resins and dyestuff's intermediates; maleic anhydride (MA) used for unsaturated polyester resins for housing units, automobiles and others; itaconic acid (ITA) used as a monomer to improve the solubility of denaturalized polyvinylacetates (PVAs); plasticizers used for leathers, seats, polyvinyl chloride (PVC) films and electrical wires, and polyol used in sandwich panels, adhesives and fridges. On September 1, 2012, the Company divested its manufacturing division into a newly established subsidiary, Aekyung Petrochemical Co., Ltd. After the transaction, it engages in the holding business. On December 27, 2012, it acquired additional shares of AMPLUS Asset Development Inc. After the acquisition, it held a 57.14% stake in AMPLUS Asset Development Inc.
