The Governing Council (GC) is the executive and policy making body of the Public Relations Association of Uganda. It is made of 12 elected members led by the President. The team also includes the immediate past President whose role is advisory.

GC members are elected by registered PRAU members at the Annual General Meeting. Other members of the GC include all PRAU former presidents. The Council term is two years. One may however serve for more than two years if re-elected.
