Riverview Restaurant & Tavern was first established in 1907 as local hotel for a bustling Victorian era resort Town. In 1936 the hotel closed and the humble beginning of Riverview Restaurant & Tavern began its new role as a gathering place for people to enjoy conversation and music while sharing food and drink. Riverview offers a well rounded menu that features your favorite tavern food as well as Italian cuisine and our very own unique sandwiches. Families and groups are always welcome.

We offer a full service bar to which six television screens and an excellent sound system has been added. In the warmer months, we are excited to provide outdoor deck seating which you can also reserve for private parties.
Riverview Restaurant & Tavern has been a local landmark since May 1st, 1907 when it first opened as a hotel in the bustling resort town of Algonquin, IL. The hotel closed down and reopened in 1936 as a restaurant, playing a major role in the community as a local landmark as well as being a favorite local gathering place for great food and drink.
