The Amana General Store, built in 1858, is a prominent historic landmark in the village of Amana. The store served the community with all of the material needs that the communal society did not provide. Today, the General Store continues to offer merchandise from far-off places, as well as many Amana and Iowa made products.
Within the Amana General Store are two specialized areas – the Amana Coffee & Tea Co., which offers an exclusive line of flavored whole bean coffees and a variety of loose and packaged teas, and The Christmas Room, a year-round holiday wonderland.
The store also offers Amana sauces and jams, gourmet food, easy-to-make mixes, books, Iowa Milkhouse Candles, Iowa’s Rada Knives, Iowa Stoneware pottery, unique kitchen gadgets, gift baskets and specialty items – available in our store and on our website.
