Since he was 13 years old, Rey Pimentel began to practice his skills in the field of design and start to develop the skills needed to run a business.He began to work on his design skills in his hometown in the Dominican Republic.
His mother was a dressmaker and shared her knowledge of fashion and design with Rey.
Rey wanted to expand his business beyond his small town. In 2001, he moved to Boston to continue his work.
He worked for another design and tailoring company for 9 years while he was transitioning to live in the United States.
He became a valuable member of the community and learned new skills to help him in the world of design.
Rey offers several personalized services. His company specializes in:

Custom made cushions

Dresses for graduations and formal events
Designs of suits and tuxedos for men
Once he felt he had enough knowledge he decided to go out on his own and started his own business. He opened a shop in a widely diverse community of Boston called Jamaica Plain. From that moment he named his company as Designs by Rey.
