Barbara Decker, MD, is a neurologist at the UVM Medical Center and assistant professor at the Larner College of Medicine at the University of Vermont.
Dr. Decker feels immensely privileged to be able to care for patients with epilepsy. She believes that each patient’s experiences and needs are unique and require individualized care. As a provider, she strives to work with patients on shared goals of reducing seizure burden, achieving independence and improving quality of life. Her hope is that patients will leave each appointment feeling as though she has listened to them, advocated for them and respected their decisions.
Dr. Decker performs a number of specialized procedures, including interpretation of EEG, RNS and VNS as well as other neurophysiologic modalities. Her research interests include population health and epidemiology, women’s health in epilepsy, healthcare disparities in epilepsy and neuromodulation in epilepsy.
