Their dream of owning a restaurant became reality when Jon's boat accidentally landed in Cape Charles, where harbor master Smitty Dize encouraged him to stay and pursue the dream. Today, The Shanty is a sustainable seafood restaurant rooted in community, hospitality, and fresh local eats.
