At the VA, her professional and surgical skills were strengthened in wound care, elective and emergent cases including, but not limited to bunions, hammertoes and ingrowing toenail procedures. Most recently, Dr. Rafiq completed her fellowship in foot and ankle surgery at Emory Midtown University Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. During this fellowship she reinforced her foundation of surgical skills and gained advanced surgical training. The fellowship has a strong emphasis on limb salvage, complex deformity correction, peripheral nerve surgery, muscle flaps and minimally invasive surgery.
