2nd oldest continuously used inn in America. It's been an inn since 1790, we're one of the 23 oldest establishments left in America. It belonged to the Stanton family from 1665-1900 and there have been 6 owners altogether. The Stantons were military, 3 generals - 1 was a brigadier general in the Revolutionary War, deputy delegate to the 1st continental congress, and a senator from Rhode Island in 1803. The Inn has been kept in its original building, some additions have been put on. It was a gambling place in the '20s. Guests today can enjoy being a part of history. There's a flea market on the grounds from the end of April till October.
