Greg Barnhart joined First Command Financial Services as a Financial Advisor in November 2019, following a 21-year career in the United States Marine Corps and Ohio Army National Guard, where he attained the rank of Sergeant First Class. Greg understands the challenges and opportunities associated with life in the military and is committed to helping service members and their families get their financial lives squared away.
A graduate of Ohio Christian University with a Master’s degree in Business Administration with a focus in Finance and Financial Management, Greg holds Series 7 and Series 66 securities licenses plus life and health insurance licenses in Ohio, Florida, and Indiana.
Understanding that the biggest obstacle to financial security for most people is their own behavior, Greg serves as a personal financial coach to clients, continually reinforcing positive financial behaviors. He advocates time-tested financial principles, including disciplined, long-term saving and investing, careful debt management, and a thoughtful insurance strategy to manage financial risk. Greg will work with you to establish specific, meaningful goals that are consistent with your values and then develop a personalized financial plan to guide your pursuit of those goals.
Active in his community, Greg is President and head coach of the Adena pee wee football program, coach in the Adena youth baseball program, and the Central Ohio Chair for the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR).
In his free time, Greg enjoys baseball, football, and spending time with family.
