Lourdes González Bahamonde, DO, is a gastroenterologist, board certified in internal medicine and medical ethics, providing comprehensive medical care at Center For Digestive Healing in the San Gabriel Valley, and Los Angeles California. She earned a bachelor's degree in psychobiology at UCLA, and a master's in bio-physiology at CSULA before earning her medical degree at New York College of Osteopathic Medicine, NYIT on Long Island. She completed her ACGME-fellowship training in gastroenterology, hepatology, and nutrition at North Shore University Hospital and Long Island Jewish Medical Center in New York in 2013.
The Center For Digestive Healing is fully equipped with the latest diagnostic technologies. She offers comprehensive care through a telemedicine platform, assisting patients from wherever they are. While Dr. Bahamonde specializes in digestive disorders, her practice has evolved toward integrative, preventive, patient-centered care that combines learned principles in internal medicine and GI with osteopathic manipulative medicine in practice.
Over the four years since relocating from NY, she has performed over 7,500 gastric and colorectal cancer screening endoscopies with polypectomies and mucosal resections, as well as advanced disease screenings for chronic liver disease. Dr. Bahamonde emphasizes peer-reviewed understanding of the interrelationship of body, structure, and function, allowing her special insight into treating gut-brain disorders. She has dedicated her life to serving diverse communities through education and cultural competence, recognizing the importance of open communication in shared-decision making.
Dr. Bahamonde continues to inspire future health care leaders as volunteer faculty in clinical medicine, medical ethics, and clinical research. She is dedicated to translational science efforts for youth in STEM programs and students in pre-health professions.
