We started Circle G Farms in 2012 with the purchase of a former dairy farm in Danville, Kentucky. Since then, the property has transformed into a modern operation, while preserving our ties to the farm’s past. The old dairy barn serves as the heart of our consumer experience. Sustainable farming practices pay homage to Spencer’s grandfather, Luther Guinn, bringing back cover crops to preserve the land and feed our cattle on half the farm.
Our cow herd consists of Angus and Hereford cows along with a polled Hereford bull. Cross-bred calves use nature’s wonder to unlock genetic differences, resulting in naturally amazing beef!
Our produce venture started as a foray into wholesale tomato markets. Selling our seconds, introduced us to the idea of marketing direct-to-consumer. And we loved it! The next year, we added diversity and started Wilderness Trail Farm Share with other farmers in Boyle County
To resurrect an old mash bill from the 1800s, we started raising non-GMO heirloom corn for a distilling family’s historic label. It’s grown with the same care as all our crops and makes bourbon awesome. Rye and wheat have become part of this heirloom grain journey.
OUR COMMUNITY SUPPORTED AGRICULTURE (CSA)
Agriculture has shifted in more recent times to refocus on the importance of local communities. And Community Supported Agriculture, or CSA, is a great way for neighbors to get involved with local farmers and providers of fresh produce, livestock, and other farm products.
The bulk of our row crops, corn, soybeans, wheat, and rye; make their way to several markets. Our livestock enjoy some of the corn and wheat, harvested as silage and grains, to feed them through various stages of their life.

We utilize gentle handling practices and are Kentucky Beef Quality and Care Assurance certified. Our cows and bulls are fed a balanced ration of grass hay, wheat silage, corn silage, and sorghum silage; all raised and harvested off our farms.
