The Bockrath Flooring & Rugs story LEARN MORE ABOUT OUR COMPANY HISTORY BELOW In 1925, Vic Bockrath Sr. entered the flooring business, quickly becoming the flooring manager for Rike Kumler Co. by the time he was 21 years old. He began specializing in the field, installing linoleum and carpet and repairing oriental rugs. In 1955, he started his own company, averaging 10 to 15 repairs a week. He taught his sons Vic Jr. and Ed the skills of the trade. Vic and Ed started selling and installing from their home in 1959, and by 1970, Vic Jr. and Ed opened their first storefront at 1924 Brown Street next to the Pine Club.
