Dr. Ammons received his medical degree from the University of Colorado School Of Medicine in Denver, and completed his residency training in general surgery and cardiothoracic surgery at the University Of Colorado Health Sciences Center, where he also served as chief resident. He specializes in the practice of adult cardiac, thoracic and vascular surgery. Dr. Ammons is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Thoracic Surgery. He has been named a “Top Doctor” in Cardiac Surgery by his peers in Denver’s 5280 Magazine. He currently serves as Co-Director of the Acute Care Episode (ACE) Demonstration project at Saint Joseph Hospital.
