Epicureanism, in a strict sense, is the philosophy taught by Epicurus. Pleasure and happiness are the chief goodness of life. In popular parlance, Epicureanism thus means devotion to pleasure, comfort and high living, with a certain goodness of lifestyle. Keeping Epicurus’ philosophy in mind, my partners and I decided to answer a simple question. How can we achieve this philosophy? We asked ourselves, how can we bring happiness, pleasure and comfort to the great student population of Wayne State University? We concluded that one of life’s simple pleasures was eating out in the company of friends, and to make this affordable.
