Originally built as two log cabins with a center dog trot in 1854, the Pound House Farmstead is a beautifully restored gem in the center of Dripping Springs. Dr. Joseph and Sarah Pound were among the original families that settled Dripping Springs. Their homestead served as a medical office, church, school and social gathering place for the community.
The Pound House Farmstead sits on 4.5 acres and includes, among others, the home, smokehouse, blacksmith shop and windmill. Also featured is the Heritage Tree, a 500+ year old oak tree that has been the subject of numerous photographs over the years. Additionally, the antique roses that Sarah brought from Mississippi in 1853 continue to thrive.
The Pound House Farmstead is a perfectly located venue in the heart of Dripping Springs. It is available to rent for weddings, corporate parties and meetings, birthday parties and weekend scouting campouts.
