L.A.S.S.O. Local Animal Shelter Support Organization (L.A.S.S.O.) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Elko, Nevada, dedicated to eliminating pet overpopulation and reducing euthanasia in Elko County. Through grants, donations and bequests, L.A.S.S.O. raised the funds to build and support the Elko Animal Shelter's Dumke/Weeks Spay & Neuter Clinic. Already over 8,000 shelter animals have been sterilized under its programs. L.A.S.S.O. also promotes animal-welfare initiatives including vaccination, microchipping, foster programs and working-cat placements, all aimed at giving every adoptable pet a chance at a healthy home.
