Dr. Sphoorthi Jinna began her career in science at Cornell University, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering.
She then went on to earn her Master of Science in Nutrition at Columbia University before embarking on her medical career.
Dr. Jinna earned her MD from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, then returned to her native New York to complete her medical internship at the North Shore-LIJ Health System. From there, she began her dermatology training at the University of Connecticut. She was chosen to be a Chief Resident during her final year of training.
During her time at UCONN, her interest was piqued in surgery and she was chosen to complete her Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology Fellowship. Completing >1300 cases, she gained proficient training in Mohs micrographic surgery, advanced reconstructive surgery, cutaneous oncology, laser surgery, and cosmetic dermatology.
