Dr. Deimel is an orthopaedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine for adults and children. He provides a full range of care, including fracture/trauma care with a special interest in soft tissue injuries of the hip, knee, and shoulder. Dr. Deimel is director of Sports Medicine at Saint Vincent Hospital and is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. After earning his undergraduate degree at the University of Notre Dame, Dr. Deimel attended Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine in Chicago, Illinois. He completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of Chicago Hospitals. Dr. Deimel pursued additional training and expertise during his orthopaedic sports fellowship at Stanford University in Palo Alto, California, while serving as assistant team physician for the San Francisco 49ers and Stanford athletic teams. Prior to joining AHN, Dr. Deimel was an orthopaedic surgeon at the Illinois Bone and Joint Institute and clinical instructor in orthopaedic surgery for the University of Chicago Orthopaedic Surgery residency program. He also served as head team physician for North Shore Country Day School athletic teams.
