We bring together a team of the finest craftsmen in the area as we develop a custom home that best fits your needs and the beach setting. Sound Construction homes are built to stand the test of time. We’ve been around for more than three decades building custom homes that are not only strong and beautiful today, but also remain that way over time. Our integrity and guidance in building homes is recognized and respected by our clients and building professionals in the greater Outer Banks area.

Kyle O'Neal is the founder and President of Hatteras Island Sound Construction Inc. He has been a licensed contractor since 1985 and has been building homes on Hatteras Island for over 30 years. In that time, he has completed work from small remodels to multi-million dollar homes. Having this range of jobs has enabled him to appreciate the need and importance to build strong, sound homes. He has witnessed firsthand the worst weather that Hatteras Island has been through. Because of this, he is very confident that he can build houses that can withstand these storms.

Warren O'Neal is our Job Superintendent and a licensed General Contractor for Hatteras Island Sound Construction Inc. He graduated from East Carolina University with a Bachelors Degree in Construction Management. After college, he worked for James G. Davis, in Washington, D.C. as a project engineer. Following that, he has worked as an sales representative for Griggs Lumber in Point Harbor. He is highly educated on product material and has a great working relationship with multiple lumber distribution companies. For you, Warren will be your right hand man for product and pricing information for materials needed for your job.
