Dr. Fornari is a child & adolescent psychiatrist who has devoted his career to caring for youth with mental illness. Dr. Fornari devotes his clinical and research attention to children and adolescents with an eating disorder. He participated in the collaboration with pediatricians on the assessment and treatment of youth with mild to moderate mental health concerns in a New York State Office of Mental Health funded initiative, entitled Project TEACH. Dr. Fornari is collaborating on a PCORI-funded study of the use of metformin to mitigate the metabolic side effects of second-generation antipsychotics (MOBILITY). Currently, Dr. Fornari is embarking on a PCORI-funded initiative to assess the most appropriate care for suicidal youth presenting to the emergency department (START). Dr. Fornari is collaborating on a SAMHSA funded study adapting trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy for youth on the autism spectrum.
