Dr. Akhabue is a board-certified general cardiologist who treats various types of cardiovascular disease. He is very passionate about helping people reduce their risk of developing cardiovascular disease in the future, which is also known as preventive cardiology. Dr. Akhabue has additional expertise in cardiac imaging, holding board certifications in echocardiography and nuclear cardiology. He is one of the primary cardiologists who interpret echocardiograms and perform transesophageal echocardiograms at North Shore University Hospital. Dr. Akhabue also performs academic research, his primary interests being in health policy, public health and epidemiology, all with the goal of helping to improve cardiovascular outcomes.Dr. Akhabue earned his undergraduate degree from Harvard College and his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine.
