I chose to become a physician because I had a deep love of and fascination with both science and human anatomy and physiology. I have always loved working with people and so medicine seemed like a perfect fit. Georgetown University school of medicine follows a philosophy of cura personalis which is Latin for care of the whole person. I have always loved this philosophy and have expanded and adapted it in my practice to include care of the whole family. A healthy family is crucial to having a healthy child. I prefer a team approach in which I work closely with the family to find the best ways to encourage healthy growth and development and provide care for medical illness. While I was trained in the western medical system, I try to incorporate complementary alternative care strategies whenever appropriate. I love spending time with my family when I am not at work. My children are both active participants in sports and my husband and I are their biggest fans. In the rare free time that I have, I love to dance (though I am not very good at it).
