Christa McAuliffe Academy was created in the Summer of 1992 as a 501(c)(3) non-profit private K-12 school. Over the next 12 years, CMA served hundreds of students in many countries around the world, making use of new technologies and the emerging Internet, which CMA began pioneering in 1996. CMA became the first virtual K-12 school to be fully-accredited by the Northwest Association of Schools & Colleges. Now, we live in Arizona, a private school/homeschool friendly state that offers Empowerment Scholarship Accounts to families who want School Choice. At 75, I am still in excellent health and I have the time & energy to devote to a renewed passion for teaching and learning. With the chaos and uncertainty currently being created by the coronavirus scare, I see a great need for a solid, reliable alternative to public education, again!
