Ballistic Research and Machine is located in Jacksonville, North Carolina. Founded in 2015 by Perry Llewellyn, CEO in the home of Camp Lejeune with a mission of producing a full auto/ belt fed machine gun rated suppressor for military/law enforcement applications. Current suppressor designs follow the same basic technology patented in the 1920's by Hiram Maxim that were effective on bolt action and repeating arms of that era, however increased bolt velocities and wear on parts are problems caused by using outdated technology. BRM approached a new design with modern gas operated semi-auto/full-auto firearms in mind to greatly reduce chamber back pressure and the associated problems of a bolt opening before spent gas pressures from the firing cycle have diminished. BRM approached this with new technology of a separate gas pressure exit from bullet exit path, known as a gas bypass (Patent Pending).
