About Dr. Elian
Alain Elian, MD, FACS, FASMBS, is board-certified in bariatric and general surgery and provides care to adults. He earned his medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine (Roseaux, Dominica); completed his General Surgery Residency at Michigan State University, Kalamazoo Center for Medical Studies (now Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine, WMed) (Kalamazoo, Ml); and earned his Fellowship in Minimally Invasive and Bariatric Surgery from University of Wisconsin (Madison, WI).
Dr. Elian speaks English, French and Arabic and has a special interest in the areas of: obesity treatment; surgical and medical, foregut diseases (hiatal hernias, gastroparesis, achalasi), complex abdominal wall hernias and reconstruction. He strives to improve the quality of life of patients with obesity and associated comorbidities, foregut diseases, abdominal wall hernias and intestinal issues.
He received the General Surgery James Heersink Award for Excellence in Teaching, WMed Department of Surgery, Western Michigan School of Medicine, Kalamazoo, MI.
