Established in 2006, La Puente is the original Lajamaya Salvadorean Restaurant location, owned by Ruth, who was born in El Salvador and came to the U.S. in the 1980s. Inspired by her mother, a restaurant owner, Ruth learned to cook at a young age. She later worked as an accountant for 12 years and in health department quality control, gaining valuable insight into large-scale food production. With her husband, she opened Lajamaya, serving the traditional recipes she grew up with. Today, the family-run business continues to thrive, with Ruth partnering alongside her husband and their two sons.
