About the Artist
Jay Faugot, a lifelong resident of Lafayette, Louisiana, has a profound love for astronomy, travel and photography. His dad enjoyed photography as well and taught him how to use his Voigtlander 35mm camera.
Jay began his photographic career at Fatima High School as a yearbook photographer and was asked to work part-time for Bud Henley as an assistant and darkroom technician. He continued to work there while attending USL. In 1984, he started Jay Faugot Photography and moved to his Jefferson Street location in 1985. In July of 2015, the studio moved to its new location in Parc Lafayette.
