In 2002, the federal government informed the public that the HIPAA law was going to be enacted in the coming future. Owning a pharmacy, with a ton of information that was going to have to be destroyed and the EPA telling us it couldn't be burned, we needed to find an alternative. After doing some research and finding nothing as far as on-site shredding, we did a market survey and in 2003 we started Security Shredding Services. Now in 2009, Security Shredding is listed as the premier on-site document destruction company in the tri-states region. With the rise in identity theft crime, and Nebraska being the founder of Arbor Day, saving trees and identities was the name of the game.
