iMassage is a spa and health studio combined, located at 1649 Antelope Dr #220 in Layton, Utah. We opened in March 2018 as a room in a basement, but quickly expanded into the second floor of a building. Our founder, Jody, wanted to have a place where people could spend time in yoga classes, massages, Zumba, and meditation. Over time new services were added and contributed to the spa-like nature of the health studio. While it’s important that people find the placerelaxing, iMassage is intended to be a space to promote mental, physical, and emotional healing. Even so, we offer the spa amenities to complete your visit. We offer massages, yoga classes,esthetician services, Zumba classes and dance studio rentals, and teeth whitening.
Massages
We believe that massages are exceedingly beneficial in relieving pain, anxiety, postural problems, stress, tension, and various other health concerns. Our massage therapists offer deep tissue massages, Swedish massages, hot stone massages, corporate massages, lymphatic massages, facial massages, foot soaks and massages, and gentle soft touch palliative care. The most popular massages given by massage therapists are the deep tissue and Swedish massages. The others are not to be overlooked, however, as each one is uniquely beneficial in its own way.
We offer palliative care for people suffering a serious or life-threatening disease through massage therapy. Often times, they suffer insurmountable pain as a result of their illness, so it’s important to us that we can take some of that pain away and improve their quality of life as much as we can.
Yoga Classes
Physical health is marked by fitness, an important aspect of our lives. We believe that yoga is a highly beneficial form of exercise as it strengthens your muscles and your mind. This ancient Indian practice has been passed down, changed, and expanded upon over centuries. Currently, there are countless schools of yoga in existence, three of which we offer classes in: Vinyasa, Beginner’s flow, and Sound meditation. In Vinyasa, the aim is to coordinate your movements with your breathing. Every breath cues the movement to a new position. Vinyasa yoga is most suited for people who like to keep moving, as every position is generally only held for a few breaths. Beginner’s flow yoga is best suited to beginners in yoga. It’s crucial that you start at the very beginning when learning yoga as it helps you better learn to breathe and stretch accordingly. Sound meditation involves focusing on your breathing while sound or music is played. Done correctly, this practice will help you reach a more peaceful meditative state.
Esthetician Services
Being physically healthy is important, but mental health is an entirely different thing. One way we help to improve your mental health is by raising your self-confidence through our beauty services. When you like what you see in the mirror, your self-confidence shoots up, which directly correlates to better mental health. Our beauty services include eyebrows, eyelash extensions, waxing, and facials. We microblade and shade to give you thicker, darker looking brows. We do the same to your eyelashes, only instead of tattooing them we add extensions. We have various options ranging from natural to glam so we can create any look you want. We also specialize in hair removal with wax. Whatever you need waxed, we can do it. As for the skin, we offer several chemical peels that will exfoliate to promote smoother, brighter skin overall.
Zumba Classes and Dance Studio Rentals
Not only is dance a brilliant form of expression, it’s also a great workout. Zumba is a popular workout program that combines dance and aerobics. It draws from multiple dances including hip-hop, salsa, soca, and mambo, and pairs the choreography with energetic music. The program intends to provide a fun environment, so it’s ideal for people who are bored with less stimulating workouts. In addition to weekly Zumba classes, iMassage also has a dance studio to rent out. Anyone and everyone is welcome, whether it’s for a class, individual practice,
or group activity.
