Every creative process for the most part starts the same; I get out my tools and a clean white canvas. An empty canvas to me is both exciting and discouraging all at the same time. Exciting because I now have the opportunity to create something out of nothing; and discouraging because all I see is the work that lies ahead. Hard work is what I believe separates average artists from greats. Everyone has an artist inside of them, but it is only those who put thousands of hours in practicing their craft that excel. Art isn't like a math problem where there is only one right answer, that's why an artist has to put in the time to make their art their own. The reason I started drawing was so I could have a release, a way to express myself in a way that I could not do verbally. Words have proven to be cheap in my experience, but a great piece of art is worth a million words. So my motto in life is to say less and do more.
