A good example of this is with an Ohio steel mill company. The challenge was to reduce spare part inventory and service intervals. These large machines – which can weigh more than 100,000 pounds when loaded shuttle around the mill up to 1,800 hours before a brake service is necessary.
This in turn saved time and money as the average brake service was cut from 2 hours per wheel down to just minutes.
