Dr. Kimberly Souza is an orthopedic surgeon at Intermountain Health's Logan Regional Orthopedics, specializing in hand and upper extremity surgery. Dr. Souza is honored to serve the Cache Valley community, delivering comprehensive hand and upper extremity care. She is passionate about offering the highest level of care to patients of all ages and backgrounds, prioritizing open communication and trust to address each patient's concerns and help them return to the activities they love.
Dr. Souza earned her degree in biomechanical engineering from Stanford University and continued her education at Stanford University School of Medicine, where she focused on surgical education and healthcare delivery in low-resource settings. This experience helped her recognize the transformative impact orthopedic surgery can have on patients' lives and well-being.
She completed her orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Utah and a fellowship in hand and upper extremity surgery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. Her research has focused on distal radius fracture treatment and innovative techniques for hand and finger arthritis reconstruction, which she has presented at international conferences and published in leading orthopedic journals. Dr. Souza has also contributed to humanitarian efforts through surgical and educational trips to Bolivia, India, Mozambique, and Nepal, working closely with local surgeons to enhance access to high-quality hand surgery worldwide.
A Salt Lake City native, Dr. Souza enjoys spending her free time with family, exploring the Wasatch Mountains, practicing ballet, and baking.
