A few people are qualified for British citizenship from the snapshot of birth; others must gain it. It very well may be gained by naturalization (for grown-ups matured 18 or over) or enlistment (regularly for kids yet at times for grown-ups).
There are two unique courses for naturalization: a five-year course and a three-year course. Under the five-year route a person more likely than not been legitimately in the UK for no less than five years and they probably held uncertain leave to stay/lasting living arrangement for no less than one year inside the period.
Under the three-year route a person more likely than not been lawfully in the UK for at least three three years, be married to a British citizen, and they should hold uncertain to stay/lasting living arrangement when they apply (however they don't must have held if for a specific time frame).
There are various other requirements, the central ones of which are that the candidate must not have invested excessively energy outside the UK amid the qualifying time frame, they should not have any unspent criminal feelings, and they more likely than not fulfilled an English language requirement and passed the Life in the UK test.
