Soil remediation improves water retention for healthier plants. We slowly dial back the frequency and increase volume as the install matures encouraging the plants to root deeper. Deeper roots allow for more infrequent irrigation which decreases nutrient loss in the soil (consequently the need for fertilization) and the probability of pest infestations and fungal disease. A plant with deeper roots is more likely to survive drought conditions or freezing, grow at a more natural moderate pace (so you wont need a trim every week) and produce more flavorful, nutritious food.
