See you this afternoon!
Can't stop, won't stop putting colors of LBA Super Sock together 💕
Whether you're looking to create a fade or a high contrast pop, there are so many gorgeous possibilities. For myself, I'm looking for a more subtle contrast to use for Born Slippy by Beata Jezek - I love the Impressionist look of this simple, slip-stitch shawl. And it's a free pattern!
A breezy day was just right for showing off the beautiful swingy drape of Alive & Kicking by Melanie Berg ❤️
Lyle knit it in ITO Kinu and Sensai held together, and I promise you this is a magically light combination that works in many gauges. If you’re looking for a fairly easy knit to transition into fall, this pattern should be high on your list…

Hello friends, meet Marzia 🐇
Her person has left for college and I’m in charge of care, feeding… and wardrobe. I mean, every bunny needs a sweater, right? Thank you @thepetiteknitter for such an adorable pattern!

It’s the season to sparkle! I can’t wait to cast on with Berroco Gimlet, a soft bulky blend with a subtle strand of metallic. Will it be a cozy giant scarf? Or a festive bobble-and-lace sweater? 🧐
Get your sparkle fix in-store and online!

Is it still slow fashion if you can finish your project in a day?
Since the cold weather season is so short in California and the holidays are coming up so fast, I love a colorful bulky or super bulky yarn to work up hats, cowls and even vests in the blink of an eye.
Check out our selection of bulky yarns online or stop by to see them in person!

Sweet Scarf by Along Avec Anna is quick and fun accessory for gifting or to keep for yourself!
A soft DK is just right for knits near your face, where your skin can be the most sensitive. Rowan Alpaca Soft DK is my go-to yarn, or you can cast on with The Fibre Company Road to China Light for extra luxury and a slightly lighter fabric. You’ll need two skeins of either to make the small size and the pattern is available through Ravelry.
Even though it’s at the end of the day, Open Knit Night always gives me a boost!
We had a great crowd last night with some friendly new faces - thanks for the cupcakes, David! - and we had to bring out our last folding table to make room for everyone 😍
This color combo feels just right on a gray, wintery day: Rowan Alpaca Soft DK in Trench Coat, paired with Spincycle Dream State in Shades of Earth.
The pattern is Snedronningen by @lilalu72 - so cozy to knit AND to wear!
We’re headed into a frosty weekend, which is a great time to have something cozy in your hands!
Armadale by Melanie Berg is a beautiful melange of textures, and so luxuriously soft in The Fibre Company Road to China Light. Many thanks to @smarsknits for letting me borrow hers 🥰

Texture and color and softness, oh my!
Blue Earth Cowl by Nancy Ekvall is a simple, satisfying journey through easy stitch patterns, stripes and color blocks - a great project for a newer knitter, or a "resting" project to alternate with something more complicated. Lyle knit our sample with Lang Amira, which makes it wearable all year long and friendly for wool-sensitive people.
The pattern is free through Ravelry and you can choose your four colors of Amira in-store or online!
Rainbow Beverage Markers - These colorful, scratch free, felt beverage markers can be used with any glass with a stem or handle. They're perfect for your holiday gathering or a dinner party any time!
Merino Wool Felt Coasters - Add a layer of protection to your table or desktop with these colorful felt coasters. They are super absorbent, perfect for hot or cold drinks. Each coaster is finished with a different sewn border pattern relating to the four elements. We are all united by the four elements, essential for the creation of all life: Earth, Air, Fire & Water.
I knit the Scarf version, which uses just two skeins of Shibui Pebble, one in each color.
Tis the season for bulky-weight shawls ❄️
Sequence Knitting & Marling Intensive Weekend with Cecelia Campochiaro - Enjoy this extraordinary weekend exploring color and texture with world-class designer, Cecelia Campochiaro.
The gray skies are back, and there's nothing more soothing than a colorwork project to brighten your afternoon!
Bind-offs are such an important part of finishing. This is my first-ever Italian bind-off and I’m sure it will look better on the second sleeve! 😂
Crystal Pullover by @helgaisager, knit in Isager Spinni, Alpaca 1 and Alpaca 2 held together.
Colorwork Marls No. 1 - Sensai - Cecelia Campochiaro's latest design is a stunning kaleidoscope of color! The simple knit/purl stitch pattern adds depth to the ever-changing pairs of colorways. The pattern is not included, and may be purchased through ravelry.com.
Each kit includes ten colors of ITO Sensai, 60% mohair/40% silk, one ball for most colors; two balls each of Cherry Blossom and Lemon.
We've got big plans for LYS Day, so it's only right that we have BIG yarn in the shop!
Bobbiny Braided Cord is your go-to for any jumbo project - especially home decor accessories like bags and baskets and poufs, oh my 😄
We've been fans of Kim Hargreaves' designs for a LONG time, and one of the reasons is that you can pick up any of her books, from any decade, and want to make at least 3 or 4 pieces. Adore is her last independent collection, and we're thrilled to have 15 sweaters and accessories in the shop now for you to touch and see up close.
Todays' Hidden Gem is The Fibre Co's Road to China Light. It's a 3-ply strong, soft, and shiny yarn with a lot of body (and great drape) that's perfect for luxurious, soft, and warm items. Don't even get us started on the rich color palette!
Textured Knits by Paula Pereira is an absolute delight! With 20 patterns - from sweaters to accessories - Textured Knits is an inspiring and gorgeous book. There's so much to learn within these pages - you'll want to keep this book close as you plan your fall knits!
Say bonjour to our newest LBA arrivals, Corrie Worsted and Corrie Confetti!
These gorgeous Falkland Corriedale yarns are the ultimate fiber for sweater knitting - perfect for colorwork, cables and even simple stockinette.
ITO Sensai restock!
This elegant silk/mohair is 40% silk, 60% mohair for beautiful sheen, softness and drape. We love pairing it with Kinu in a Sophie Scarf or Conversing Shawl - the texture is extraordinary and the fabric is so light!
Happy Thanksgiving to our friends who celebrate!
The shop is closed today so that our staff can spend time with friends & family, but our online shop is always open if you want to get a leg up on your holiday shopping. 😉
Heading over the river and through the woods for the holidays? You need a kit to keep yourself occupied!
