Difference between OST and an Agency

Before we get into the differences, we should tell you that no matter which route you decide to take or which route is decided for you, you are going to require marketing material no matter what. People don't get discovered in cafe's like Adriana Lima in a shopping mall or Cindy Crawford while working a summer job or even Elle MacPherson while skiing in Aspen. The agencies still have scouts but the industry has changed so much with the internet.

You decide when where and how often you submit to casting and how often you audition. You own your schedule. You're investing in the your marketing material so you don't have anyone to pay back. You can even invest in professional photography when you are ready to improve your look and book. The more professional your comp card looks the more opportunities you should land. Casting Directors and Agents like to know that you are committed to your craft.
