James D. Tipton Jr., M.D., earned a bachelor's degree from Asbury University, Wilmore, Kentucky, followed by his medical degree from the University of Louisville. He completed his pediatric residency at Norton Children's Hospital and the University of Louisville. He joined Norton Children's Hospital Medical Associates - Elizabethtown in 2015 before moving to Norton Children's Hospital Medical Associates - Dixie. Dr. Tipton is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), the Kentucky chapter of the AAP and the Greater Louisville Medical Society. He is board certified in pediatrics. A native of Louisville, Dr. Tipton attends Southeast Christian Church, where he is active in the sports and fitness ministry. He enjoys spending time with his wife and five children, coaching his sons, playing basketball and golf, and running.
