Dr. Bottrell started her career as a high school teacher and basketball coach in Canada. She then moved to Australia where she worked at the 2000 Sydney Olympic and Paralympic Games. She subsequently studied medicine at the University of Sydney and trained in critical care medicine at Royal North Shore Hospital. Following 4 years of residency, Dr. Bottrell moved to Shanghai China where she practiced Family, Sports and Event Medicine. She also undertook formal studies in Acupuncture at the Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. After moving to New York in 2016, Dr. Bottrell completed Family Medicine residency and Sports Medicine Fellowship training. She joined the Orthopaedic Department at Northwell in 2023 and practices Primary Care Sports Medicine at Lenox Hill Hospital and Lenox Hill Greenwich Village. Her scope of practice includes diagnosis and treatment of all musculoskeletal disorders, ultrasound guided injections (cortisone, hyaluronic acid gel and PRP), sports concussion evaluation and treatment. Dr. Bottrell has provided medical support for the ATP, Cirque du Soleil, Professional Boxing, New York City Marathon, NYC Triathlon and is and Event Physician for the NBA and WNBA.
