Capt. Ron Onorato started commercial fishing in the waters of Montauk Point in 1973 as a rod and reel striped bass fisherman. During that time he fishe landed twenty four striped bass over 50 pounds. In the 1980's fishing from his 22 foot Boston Whaler landed over 60 tuna weighing up to 804 pounds. In addition he has fished for striped bass extensively for over 30 years and has landed two striped bass over 60 pounds. He also is an accomplished writer having written numerous articles for the Long Island Fisherman, Salt Water Sportsman, and other fishing magazines. Since starting his charter fishing business, his customers have landed twenty four striped bass over 50 pounds. He brings all this experience to make your trip pleasant and productive.
The Capt. Ron is a brand new custom built 29' Sport fisherman with a complete walk around feature. It is powered by a 315 HP Diesel engine with a true cruising speed of 25 knots. The boat is equipped to the max with the latest state of the art electronics and safety equipment. It has a fully equipped head and a heated cabin with two bunks. It has over 80 square feet of cockpit space.
Although its spacious cockpit would allow up to 6 passengers, for you comfort and enjoyment only 1-4 passengers will be accommodated. The boat is fully licensed and insured.
The boat is owned and operated by USCG licensed Capt. Ron Onorato. He has been fishing the waters off Montauk since 1973 as a commercial rod & reel fisherman.
During that time, he pioneered the art of small boat Giant Bluefin Tuna fishing from his 22' Boston Whaler. In addition, he has landed two Striped Bass over 60 lbs. He brings all this experience to make your trip pleasant, enjoyable and productive.
Capt. Ron has added a second boat to the business. The new boat is a 32' Sea Craft powered by twin 225 HP Mercury outboards that provides a cruising speed of 30 knots with a range of 40 plus miles. This boat will be able to accommodate offshore wreck and tuna trips as well as shark fishing.
