Our slaughterhouse opened in 1945, prior to that time home freezers were non existent and it was a locker plant for cutting x storage founded early 1900's. In 1974 my family bought the business and did primarily custom killing & processing. When the small dairies disappeared with the dairy buy out in the 80's we focused on wholesale pork & beef slaughter & processing. As the meat industry became more efficient with technology the larger packers narrowed the profit margin to make meat processing non competitive so we diversified a combination of wholesale purveying restaurants and family markets, and including custom processing and retail sales. We are a family run local business in the area due to large number of small livestock operations. We sell grain feed choice beef, pork & chicken retail, as well as accommodate the grass fed local growers. We also sell seafood, shrimp scallops, king crab, and lobster tail. Retail has become are large portion of our current business.
