Caring for the machine. Heat press machines should be maintained regularly as part of your small business maintenance schedule. The manufacturer's manual should provide detailed guidelines on how to maintain the machine, how to replace parts and when to bring the machine in for servicing. It is also good practice to take your machine in for regular maintenance once a year.

Equipment clearing or breaking. Press machines are equipped with an optical diamond-receiver-reflector (ODR) and a laser beam-cooling system, which enable the operator to use the device to clear away debris. While you are not touching the cutter head with the heat press itself, you are still touching the surface with the diamond beam. As long as the beam is able to cool the cutter face and travel through the part to the bed of material, the part will be safe.
