Our practice was founded by Dr. Philip E. Shipper, a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine, in 1947. Dr. Shipper established one of the more successful practices on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. He was one of the pioneers in the use of nitrous oxide analgesia in the treatment of patients, which lessens the anxiety that many patients experience with dental treatment. In 1976, Dr. David M. Shipper, also a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine, joined his father in practice. Dr. David Shipper helped the practice expand and flourish.
