The Olympus 190 series is the first video endoscope to incorporate high definition video technology. At ECNY, we also use CO2 (carbon dioxide) rather than air for distending the colon during colonoscopies. The use of CO2 has been shown to reduce the incidence of gas, bloating, and abdominal discomfort following a colonoscopy.
