Chris Ruggles joined First Command Financial Services as a Financial Advisor in February 2025, following a 22-year career in the United States Army, where he attained the rank of Major (serving 8 years enlisted & 14 commissioned). Chris understands the challenges and opportunities associated with life in the military and is committed to helping service members and their families get their financial lives squared away.

Chris has a Master’s degree in Business & Organizational Security Management from Webster University and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from University of the Incarnate Word. He holds Series 6, 63, and 65 securities licenses plus life and health insurance licenses in Virginia and Texas.

Understanding that the biggest obstacle to financial security for most people is their own behavior, Chris serves as a personal financial coach to clients, continually reinforcing positive financial behaviors. He advocates time-tested financial principles, including disciplined, long-term saving and investing, careful debt management, and a thoughtful insurance strategy to manage financial risk. Chris will work with you to establish specific, meaningful goals that are consistent with your values and then develop a personalized financial plan to guide your pursuit of those goals.

Active in his community, Chris is known for his servant leadership, of which you can find him volunteering at church, on base, and throughout the local community, giving back in gratitude for the blessings in his own life. In his free time, he enjoys home maintenance/lawn care, hiking, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
