Born in Moorestown, New Jersey, Burt graduated from Moorestown High School in 1972 and earned his Bachelor of Science degree at Fordham University School of Business in 1976. Immediately following college, Burt worked in accounting and finance for Intercontinental Hotels corporate office in New York City. In 1978 Burt was hired as General Manager of the Port-O-Call Hotel and moved to Ocean City as a year-round resident. In 1988, Burt joined an Ocean City real estate firm as Vice President and owner. Burt received his GRI designation and Real Estate Brokers license in 1990. In 1998 Burt opened Goldcoast Realty and in 1998 affiliated with Sotheby’s International Realty to become Goldcoast Sotheby’s International Realty. Burt was President of the Ocean City Board of Realtors in 1997 and Realtor of the Year in 1999. He continues to be one of Ocean City’s top producers with Circle of Excellence Awards every year since 1988 with recent annual sales between $25 and $40 million dollars.
